How to Meet 100 People with Pat Hedley

Do you feel you need time to network?  Listen to this interview with Pat Hedley, investor, advisor, and author of “Meet 100 People” and find out how you can make time to expand your network.  Pat shares her insights on the benefits of networking, even how a conversation over coffee led to her TEDx talk. This conversation with host Natalie Benamou and Pat Hedley will help you get started planning to meet 100 people today.

Getting Started

  1. Plan your goals for meeting 100 people.
  2. Write down the names of people you already know and list out who can help you accomplish those goals.
  3. When speaking to your contacts, ask “who else can I talk to”?

Additional Ideas

  • Warm up cold calling with some research. Find similar interests or something that you have in common like going to the same college, grew up in the same town, etc.
  • Send a handwritten follow-up note to help you stand out.
  • Stay in touch by sending an article they may be interested in.
  • If you ask someone in person to meet, it's 34 times more likely to be granted, compared with an email or phone invitation.
  • Be genuinely curious and authentic when helping people.
  • If you have time to eat, you’ve got time to meet new people. Enjoy a virtual lunch or coffee with someone.
  • “Consistently look for ways to either reconnect with people that you know or meet new people.”

Thank you, Pat Hedley, for this conversation, your expertise in networking and tips on how we all can meet 100 people.
